Year of the Horse

Year of the Horse

The popular expression ‘works like a horse’ holds true for Horse people because they truly are hard workers and will fully commit themselves to projects unless they perceive the job as unfairly beneath them. Horses may be challenged by their own emotions as they can be prone to impulse and short tempers, especially in love. They are often independent people which may make them seem self-centered, but this is usually not the case. They are intelligent, charming, and have excellent verbal skills making them one of the more popular signs. Their popularity feeds into their highly social nature and they love being around other people – be it friends or strangers. Once they find a partner and career, they will be highly devoted to each.

The Story of the Horse

Soon after the Dragon crossed the finish line, the sound of thundering hooves marked the closing in of the Horse … who, like the Ox, had a passenger with him - the Snake. Only seconds before the Horse crossed the finish line, the crafty Snake hissed loudly and coiled himself around the neck of the Horse, who was so startled, that he stopped running and reared back on his hind legs in fright. This gave the Snake the chance to leap off the Horse’s back and slither ahead across the finish line. This made the Snake sixth and the Horse seventh.
