What to Wear in Mongolia August?

August in Inner Mongolia is warm but with big day-night temperature differences. Western areas are hottest, central-western regions mild, and eastern areas cooler. For daytime, pack breathable cotton T-shirts, thin blouses or light dresses—cool for temperatures up to 33℃. Evenings drop sharply, so bring a thin jacket, windbreaker or fleece. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are a must to fend off insects, especially for grassland or desert trips. Add a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses for strong sunshine, plus a lightweight waterproof coat for occasional brief rains.

Touring Inner Mongolia in August

In August, Inner Mongolia has plenty of great places to visit. Hulunbuir Grassland in the eastern Inner Mongolia is at its finest—covered with green plants, it's crossed by the winding Moergele River, known as the "No.1 Meandering River Under Heaven," and the scenery is amazing. The "Little Forbidden City" Dazhao Temple is a popular spot in Hohhot, central-western Inner Mongolia. With complete facilities, Xilamuren Grassland lets you watch Mongolian special shows and have a wonderful time. You can try sand sliding and camel riding at the Kubuqi Desert in western Inner Mongolia. Famous for sand dunes and clear lakes, the Alxa League's Badain Jaran Desert has unique views. Don't miss the Ulanhada Volcanic Geopark, hailed as a natural volcano museum. Now, mainly Volcanoes 3 to 8 are open, making it perfect for photos.
