Full Itinerary

Day 01: Beijing Arrival

Your tour guide is holding your name sign and waiting for you at the luggage claim area of the Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). After you meet each other, you will be transferred to your hotel by private car accompanied by your tour guide.

Day 02: Forbidden City, Tian’anmen Square and Hutong (B,L)

After breakfast, your tour guide will accompany you to the Forbidden City, the royal palaces in the ancient Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1912) Dynasties. It was inhabited by 24 emperors over time. Head inside for a walking tour to experience the royal life. Continue on to the expansive Tian’anmen Square, where a photo of Chairman Mao is hanging. He proclaimed the foundation of the People’s Republic of China on a tower adjacent to the square in 1949. The Hutong are the essence of Chinese life which the capital of China can offer you. Linger in the maze-like place to read the history and culture of Beijing.

Day 03: Mutianyu Great Wall and Temple of Heaven (B,L)

Visit the UNESCO-listed Mutianyu Great Wall to learn about one of the most renowned ancient relics in China. Running on the Great Wall offers you the feeling of being an ancient military dogrobber - Ask your tour guide if you don’t what that is. The Temple of Heaven, another World Cultural Heritage site listed by UNESCO, was a royal site for sacrificial ceremonies. It is now a park, where local people do morning exercises.

Day 04: Summer Palace, Bird Nest and Speed Train to Xi’an (B,L)

Start today’s sightseeing with the Summer Palace, a royal resort built in 1888. The resort was designed according the style of the ancient gardens in the South Yangtze River Area. And then tour the Bird’s Nest, an Olympic legacy. Its unique exterior makes the stadium a perfect backdrop for photos. At the end of today’s tour, you will be transferred to the railway station for your speed train to Xi’an, one of the ancient capital cities in China.

Day 05: Terracotta Army and Ancient City Wall Biking (B,L)

A full morning tour to visit the Terracotta Army Museum. The emperor Qinshihuang’s underground army is ready for your inspection, during which time knowledge about the ancient science of war will seep into your mind. The Ancient City Wall has been guarding the city of Xi’an for over 600 years. Cycling on the spacious city wall is the best way to learn both the historical and modern parts of Xi’an .

Day 06: Shaanxi Historical Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, The Great Mosque, Muslim Quarter and flight to Zhangjiajie(B,L)

Featuring over 370000 ancient relics made between time immemorial and 1840, the Shaanxi Historical Museum displays a time line for every visitor. Your professional tour guide will help you soak up the history and culture of China during your stay in the museum.

The Big Wild Goose Pagoda was built in 652 to store the Buddhist scriptures transported from India. The Buddhist statues and Buddha’s relics are the top collections in the pagoda.

Leave the pagoda and head to The Great Mosque, which covers an area of 12300 square meters. The mosque is an Islamic architecture influenced by Chinese culture. It is a great pleasure to admire the combination.

Then it is a short journey to the Muslim Quarter, where you can take a stroll and buy some exquisite souvenirs or try the local snacks. Alcoholic beverages are forbidden in the Islamic restaurants. Finish the tour in the Muslim Quarter and then relax in your comfortable private car during the drive to Xi’an Xi’anyang Airport, where you will board your flight to Zhangjiajie.

Day 07: Tianzi Mountian, Bailong Elevator and Yuanjiajie (B,L)

After being fully refreshed in your hotel, take a cable car to the best view terraces on the mind-blowing Tianzi Mountain, whose weird stones and peaks make you feel like you are delving into the magical world of the movie “Avatar”. Unlike Avatar, the views of Tianzi Mountain are all masterworks of nature. And then, take the world’s highest outdoor elevator Bailong to Yuanjiajie, where you can continue your Avatar dream.

Day 08: Golden Whip Brook Hiking and Yangjiajie (B,L)

Today’s action-packed tour starts with the 7.5-kilometer-long Golden Whip Brook Hike. Hike along the brook and enjoy the breathtaking flora, fauna, geology and geography on your hiking route. The lane along the brook is wet, so a walking stick and a pair of strong shoes are necessary. Photo snapping is a must-do during the hike. After the hike, you will take a tour of Yangjiajie.

Day 9: Tianmen Mountain and flight to Shanghai (B,L)

Tianmen Mountain is renowned for the Tianmen Cave. The cave is 131.5 meters high and 57 meters wide. It is believed visitors, who reach the cave will get good luck. Brave tourists are recommended to walk and pose for photos on the 1430-meter high glass plank on the Mountain. The round-trip cable car will save your transportation time and physical strength for sightseeing. Your tour guide and driver will transfer you to the Zhangjiajie airport and help you board your flight to Shanghai after the tour.

Day 10: Shanghai World Financial Center, Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple and Former French Concession (B,L)

The 474-meter high sightseeing terrace of the Shanghai World Financial Center enables you to take a panoramic view of Shanghai City. It is one of the highest city sightseeing terraces in the world. And then enjoy a walking tour in Yuyuan Garden, an outstanding garden in the South Yangtze River area. The exquisite lakes, pavilions, bridges, rockeries and courtyards are indispensable factors for the luxury ancient private garden.

Escape from the hustle and bustle of the most developed city in China and relax yourself in the peaceful Jade Buddha Temple. Lots of people who live in the busy city of Shanghai come to the temple to relieve the troubled part of their personalities.

Established in 1849 and closed in 1943, the French Concession was the most extravagant residential area in Shanghai for almost a century. Most buildings in European style in the concession are preserved very well nowadays.

1. Do you have small group tours? Can I join in a seat in coach tour?

China Educational Tours specializes in tailor made private tours. We’re sorry to tell you that small group tours are not available. You can join in a Sit- In-Coach (SIC) tour in Beijing, Xi’an, Tibet, Guilin and Shanghai. We have carefully selected reputed SIC suppliers in each city to make sure that your China tour is fun and memorable.

2. Why are the dinners not included in this trip?

We usually leave dinners open on your own so that you can either go to a local restaurant for a little adventure or have some simple food in the hotel. It is often a long day after sightseeing. An open evening allows more flexibility to you.

3. Is there any insurance included in this tour? Do you offer travel insurance?

It is a condition of booking with us that you take your own suitable travel insurance to China, covering at least circumstances leading to the cancellation of your booking and providing sufficient medical cover for illness or injury and repatriation. All tour packages of China Educational Tours have included China Life Tourist Accident/Casualty Insurance up to a maximum of $29,000 provided free of charge as part of our package.
