Get up in the early morning and prepare your breakfast together with your host. After breakfast, walk to the fields and learn from the villagers how to build a fish pond. The process may include: digging the fields, moving the dirt aside, making the hole, building the wall for retaining the water, mixing the sand and cement, cementing the wall to make it water proof, hammering the dirt, and filling the pond.

After dinner, learn from the villagers how to play the Lusheng, which is a traditional musical instrument of the Miao people. The Lusheng has a history of more than 3,000 years. You can buy a Lusheng and keep it as a souvenir after the learning experience.

Day 3
Community Service and School Visit (B, L, D)

Today, continue your work to build the fish pond with the villagers in the morning. The work today is quite similar to yesterday. The main job today is to make the wall water proof. After you finish the job, your reward is to go and catch fish in the rice paddy fields or plough the fields like Chinese people did thousands of years ago. The villagers are raising small fish in their rice paddy fields. Try everything you can to catch a fish and you can prepare it for dinner.

After lunch, you will visit a primary school in the village. You can do some cultural exchange programs with the local students. Prepare some gifts, just in case you meet some good friends there.

Tonight, the Chief will prepare a long table banquet for you. It’s the most traditional banquet in the Miao people’s village. After the banquet, enjoy the bonfire party with the villagers.
