Full Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Beijing

Your journey to the Far East starts when meeting your personal guide at Beijing International Capital Airport (PEK). China, a country with an ancient civilization, is to be explored by you with our professional team. Your guide will accompany you in an air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in the city center and help you with check in procedure. The rest of the day is free for you to recover from jet-lag or make some exploration around the hotel.

Remarks: There are a lot to discover near your hotel, shopping street, food market or local neighborhoods. Please feel free to ask your guide for more to advice.

Day 02: Great Wall of China (B,L,D)

Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall is the most scenic and best-preserved section. Your private tour guide and driver will take you to the Wall in early morning to avoid big crowds. Enjoy your time on the Wall to fully appreciate itself and the view in distance. You will return to the city after your first Chinese meal in a local farmer’s restaurant. Hutong tour with rickshaw ride allows you to have a close look at local people’s life. It’s been centuries when the local Beijing residents have lived in Hutong with quadrangle courtyard. Peking Duck, the most traditional and famed food, will be served to you as your dinner to welcome you to China.

Evening Activities: As the capital of China, there are various choices to make your night entertaining in Beijing. Traditional Peking Opera, Chinese Kungfu Show, and Acrobatic Show are all recommended. Your guide can help to make reservation for you.

Day 03:Mysterious Forbidden City (B,L,D)

Start your day with a leisurely walk to Tian’anmen Square, the largest city square and China’s polical center. From there, you will enter the highlight of the day, Forbidden City (Imperial Palace). This 600-year-old palace has been the political and living center of 24 emperors in Ming and Qing Dynasty. It is the largest museum with huge collections of culture relics and antiques. The houses are yellow-roofed with vivid carvings on the edges. It represents the tradition of royal. Walking in the palace, stepping on the old bricks, feeling the sacred atmosphere, time travels back to old days. After lunch in a local courtyard house, your guide will take you to a local high school to join a cooking class. Chinese cuisine is loved by people from home and abroad. Here you will see how they make Chinese northern food and could learn one course.

Day 04: Summer Palace and Speed Train to Luoyang (B,L)

You may want to pack your bags the night before for a leisure start this morning. The whole morning is for you to explore the largest royal garden, Summer Palace. It was used as emperors’ summer retreat in old times but still a nice place to escape from summer heat nowadays. This enormous park contains trees, hills, lakes, pavilions and houses. You could spend hours wondering around or take a short boat ride on Kunming Lake to appreciate its beauty. Your guide will choose a local restaurant en-route for you to have lunch. A stop at a local grocery store is applicable to buy some food for your dinner today. The train journey lasts for 4 hours with countryside view the way. Upon arrival at Luoyang train station, your private guide will take you to your hotel and help you to check in. We recommend you rest early to be ready for another exciting day.

Day 05: Shaolin Temple (B,L,D)

Located at Songshan Mountain in Dengfeng City, 56km south of Luoyang City, the Shaolin Temple is reputed as “Number One Temple under Heaven”. It is now known worldwide for Shaolin Martial Art. Your tour covers all the major places, such as the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Grand Hall, the Sutra Depository, Hall of Thousands of Buddha and the Pagoda Forest. A Kung Fu show is also included. Lunch can be arranged as vegetarian style in the temple for a change. Head back to Luoyang after the tour. The rest of the day will be on your own.

Day 06: Longmen Grottoes and Take Speed Train to Xi'an (B,L,D)

Enjoy a rich breakfast in your hotel. Your morning tour heads to Longmen Grottoes, one of the 3 most valuable Grottoes in China. When looking at the status and steles carved 1500 years ago, you will be amazed by the fine artwork. Then continue your trip to White Horse Temple, the first Buddhism temple in China. It is honored as the cradle of Chinese Buddhism so becomes a sacred spot for Buddhist all over the world. Your guide will take you to the train station after lunch. After 1 hour and 40 minutes train ride, you will arrive at Xi’an North Station and meet your Xi’an guide there.

Evening in Xi’an: Night lights on the City Wall and Tang Dynasty Show are recommended to make your night diverse.

Day 07: Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses (B,L,D)

This is an exciting day as visiting one of the world wonders. The Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, located 40km northeast of Xi’an City, is the most important discover in archeological field. The 2000-year-old warriors with vivid facial appearance are standing right in front of you. How amazing it is to look into their eyes. You could easily spend 2 hours to visit the 3 different pits displaying more than thousands of clay figures. If you are lucky, the old man who firstly discovered this site will be there and you could shake hands with him. To satisfy your curiosity, your guide will take you to a Pottery Factory to learn the process of making terra-cotta figurines. You have a chance to make one with your own hands. Then, head back to the city and visit the Ancient City Wall. It is the oldest and best-preserved City Wall in China. You will marvel how wide and well-constructed it is. Stroll, bicycle and rickshaw ride is for your choice to explore the Wall.

Day 08: Xi'an City Exploration and Fly to Shanghai (B,D)

Xi’an Historical Museum is a complex of museum, temple and pagoda. You could learn more the long history and rich culture about ancient China by visiting it along with Small Wild Goose Pagoda. The pagoda may not so well-known but it keeps the original architecture style of early Tang Dynasty. You will take a noon flight to Shanghai. A simple lunch will be served on board. Upon arrival at Shanghai airport, you will find your Shanghai guide waiting for you outside of the luggage claim area. You will be transferred to your hotel and check in. Your dinner today is included and you may enjoy the night lights along driving.

Good to Know: Shanghai at night is more charming. A night cruise on Huangpu River, an Era Time acrobatic Show or strolling along Xintiandi Bar Street, visitors could always find a factor that touches them.

Day 9: Shanghai City Highlights (B,L,D)

Shanghai is a city never being forgotten. In the morning, after having breakfast in your hotel, you will first visit Yuyuan Garden, a classic Chinese garden. Lakes, corridors and exquisite houses represent gorgeous architecture skills in old times. You will step into Yuyuan Market right out of the garden, where the City God Temple is located. Souvenirs, snacks, and street artists can be found here. Pudong is the new developing zone of Shanghai, while Puxi is more for original Shanghainese residents. On 100th floor of The World Financial Center, you will have a panoramic view of both Pudong and Puxi sides of Shanghai city. The Bund, Shanghai’s symbol, is where to appreciate the international buildings built in late 18th century. It was the epitome of prosperous old Shanghai. Continue to Former French Concession to get a bite of Shanghai’s old history. Nice eating places and bars can be easily found here.

Day 10: Depart for Home (B)

Relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast in your hotel before your guide come to meet you. Driving about 1 hour, you will be at Pudong International Airport for your flight home. Your guide will help you to check in and wave goodbye to you at the security home. Service end.

1. Is the tour for just us or will we share a bus with others?

This is a private tour for just your party. Your private driver and English-speaking guide is at your disposal 8 hours a day with the best possible service. We want to make sure that you can travel at your own pace without compromise.

2. Is the itinerary flexible?

Yes, it is. The itinerary can be customized as you wish, and even on the tour, you can still make changes if necessary. Your personal guide is highly flexible to ensure that you can travel at your own pace.

3. Will the flight/train tickets be mailed to me?

All air tickets are E-tickets and only passports are reuqired for checkin at airports. Whiletrain tickets are issued 1-2 weeks before departure, your tour guide will hand them to you when you arrive in the city.

4. As for the train travel, does anyone help me with the luggage?

Train stations in China have lots of steps and some don’t even have a escalator. In this case, you will find it is difficult to deal with heavy bags. We can hire a porter to help you to carry your bags on and off the trains as your guides can’t get inside the train station without tickets.

5. Are the meals authentic Chinese food?

Yes, we select authentic Chinese restaurants for you to be immersedin the local atmosphere and try the best local food. You can also choose your favorite food with the help of your guide. The guide and driver will not share your table unless you invite them to.
