All of this is packed into your 3 days Yellow Mountain Tour.
Day 01: Ancient Village Discovery
Your tour guide will welcome you at the arrival hall of Huangshan Northern Railway Station. Upon your arrival, the tour guide and driver will pick you up and drive you about 1 hour to get to Hongcun Ancient Village. After the discovery tour in Hongcun, check in at your hotel and arrange dinner on your own.
Hongcun Ancient Village: Has a history of more than 900 years old, Hongcun Ancient Village is called ‘village in the painting’. Because of the movie Crouching Tiger & Hidden Dragon, Hongcun has been well known by the world since 2000. The picturesque village has all of the elements of a traditional Chinese painting: local people, stone bridges, ancient architectures and quiet pools with fantastic reflections. That’s the reason you can find the students are drawing their Chinese painting there.

Day 02: Hiking on Yellow Mountain
Your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby after breakfast. You will drive for about 1 hour and get to the Park of Yellow Mountain. After taking the shuttle bus from the entrance gate, your tour guide will lead you to Yungu cable car station. You are going to take a 10 minute cable car ride up the Mountain and start to explore the small mountains.
Yellow Mountain: Yellow Mountain is one of the top 10 mountains in China. It could be the easiest mountain to access from most of the big cities. Many people include it on their Bucket List, both domestic and international travellers. Yellow Mountain is famous for its amazing rocks, sea of clouds, hot springs and beautiful pine trees. Cable cars are available from the different directions leading to the top of the Mountain. Sunny and clear weather could be essential to admire the mountains at their best.
What’s the suggested hiking route on the Mountain?
You are going to take Yungu cable car to get to the top of the Mountain. Upon your arrival, walk about 40 mins to get to Shixin Peak. You can see the Umbrella Pine and Black Tiger Pine on the way. The Shixin Peak is the best place to have a bird’s eye view of the small mountains and see lots of beautiful pine trees. Walk for about 20 minutes to your hotel, check in and have lunch there.
In the afternoon, walk about 20 minutes to get to West Sea Grand Canyon. You are going to spend half a day hiking in the canyon. It takes about 3-4 hours to hike through the canyon. The further you hike the fewer people you will meet. If it’s too much for you, you can choose to hike the First Ring only which takes about 2 hours.
The other option is to hike to the Second Ring and take a cable car up. The cable car costs CNY80 (US$13) per person, which is not included. After you get back to the cable car station, walk about 30 minutes to Paiyun Pavillion to see the gorgeous sunset. Back to your hotel and dinner is on your own arrangement.
Good to know: Travel light! The hiking tour on the Mountain could be a little bit tough if you take your suitcase with you. Prepare a backpack to carry your overnight staff onto the Mountain. Your tour guide will help you to store your big luggage at the foot of the Mountain. The storage fee is around CNY20 (US$4) per piece.
Day 03:Sunrise on the Mountain & Back to Shanghai
In the early morning, walk about 20 minutes to Shuguang Pavilion to see the sunrise. It’s the most recommended place to photograph the sunrise on the Mountain. After that, go back to your hotel and have breakfast.
This morning, you can walk around the mountain if you have any places you want to go. We suggest that you take a cable car down, drive about 1 hour and pay a visit to Tunxi. Tunxi is the downtown of Huangshan City. You can walk around the Old Street, see the old architecture, shop around and take a little adventure trying the local snacks.
Drive to the train station after lunch in a local restaurant.
