Shuimogou Scenic Spot, also known as Shuimogou Park, covers an area of 36 square kilometers. It is a comprehensive natural mountain park integrating natural scenery, cultural landscapes, cultural relics, ethnic customs, and sports fitness.
The gate of Urumqi’s Shuimogou Scenic Area is a splendid architectural replica of Qing Dynasty - style stacked pavilions and ancient eaves. Measuring 33.2 meters in length, 9.74 meters in width, and 14.2 meters in height. Its huge semicircular entrance arc lines reflect the image of the Shuimo River flowing down. Whether you look at it from a distance or close up, it gives people a strong visual impact, and it looks tall, magnificent and imposing.
In the scenic area, a red wall winds along the hillside — this is the 300-meter-long Hanwen Ridge. Meticulously selected high-quality black granite slabs in various shapes are inlaid into the mountain wall. Each granite slab bears an engraved poem, all masterpieces of poetry and prose left by ancient and modern literati who visited Shuimogou. Inspired by the themes of these ancient verses, complementary garden structures such as Bridge, Cave, Pavilion, and Pond have been added. The integration of culture and scenery forms a picturesque landscape corridor.
Qingquan Temple is the largest Buddhist sanctuary in Xinjiang and serves as the headquarters of the Urumqi Buddhist Association. The temple complex includes the Grand Hall, Heavenly King Hall, Guanyin Hall, and Ksitigarbha Hall. With its red walls, colorful glazed tiles, ornate painted beams and carved rafters, the entire temple exudes grandeur and solemnity. Daily, numerous visitors come to burn incense, worship Buddha, and pray for family prosperity, career success and longevity.
The Jinshiyuan area is a place where emotions are poured out, showcasing the beauty of friendship, family love and romantic love in the world. The Jinshiyuan Scenic Spot consists of the Fuxi and Nüwa relief, the Heart-Locking Chain, the Oath Monument, the Heart-Connecting Pavilion, the Intertwined Trees, the Heart-United Cliff Rockery, and four groups of sculptures of different hand gestures. It symbolizes that meeting in this life is predestined, and one should cherish the true emotions in the world.
Located at the northern foot of the Tianshan Mountains, the scenic area features a mountainous hilly landscape with crisscrossing valleys and winding streams, demonstrating the long-term evolutionary results of geological processes such as glacial erosion and fluvial incision. By observing the geographical features of this area, visitors can learn geographical knowledge such as plate movement, exogenic processes, and stratum structure, making it suitable as a field teaching site for geological science popularization.
Portrait Photography: The Qingweiliao Teahouse in the scenic area offers delicate refreshments and ancient-style scenery, where visitors can wear traditional costumes to take portrait photos.
