The Altay Jiangjunshan International Ski Resort is located on the front slope of Jiangjun Mountain in Altay City. It is the only alpine ski resort situated within a city in China. It enjoys uniquely favorable natural conditions and lies at the golden skiing latitude of 47° North, sharing the same latitude line with world-famous ski destinations like the Alps and Whistler. The ski resort covers an area of 600,000 square meters, with an altitude of 1,300 meters, a vertical drop of 300 meters, slopes ranging from 12 to 50 degrees, and excellent mountain conditions.
The ski resort currently has 61 ski slopes with a total length of 65 kilometers. Two of the slopes have been certified by the International Ski Federation. The snowmaking area of the slopes is 1.85 million square meters, and the area of wild snow outside the slopes is more than 3 million square meters. The maximum height difference of the slopes is 460 meters. There are 8 cable cars, abundant natural snowfall, and rich and varied terrain. The ski resort has a 140,000 square meter beginner and intermediate practice area, and the ratio of beginner, intermediate, and advanced ski slopes is 3:4:3.
More than ten snow recreational projects are available, including all-terrain off-road vehicles, snowmobiles, extreme snow tubes, snow tanks, zorb balls, go-karts, children's educational excavators, and drifting dragon sleds. These activities cater to visitors of all ages, allowing them to experience the speed and excitement of the snow.
Located in the golden skiing belt at 47° North latitude, sharing the same latitude as the Alps and Whistler, it can intuitively demonstrate the climatic commonalities of the "golden skiing latitude" (such as the relationship between snowfall, snow quality, and latitude), helping to understand the influence mechanism of the westerly belt and mountain topography on snowfall.
