Yalong Bay National Tourism Resort is the only national-level tropical tourism resort. Yalong Bay Butterfly Valley is a modern garden-style tourist attraction that integrates science popularization, sightseeing and shopping. The valley features a large butterfly garden enclosed by a stainless steel net, covering an area of 1,500 square meters. Yalong Bay Tropical Forest Park is divided into East Park and West Park, covering a total area of 1,506 hectares. The main tree species in the park include pachyderms, alpine banyans, etc. The forest vegetation types are tropical evergreen rainforests and tropical semi-deciduous seasonal rainforests, mainly consisting of natural secondary forests, with a few artificial forests. The forest coverage rate in the park reaches 97%. It is home to a vast number of plant species. According to incomplete statistics, there are over 1,500 species belonging to 133 families and 553 genera.
By 2010, the planned tourist facilities that had been built included the Bird's Nest Resort, the Longtan Fairy Bridge, Yanbo Pavilion, the Assembly Area, Orchid Valley, Chinese restaurants, Western restaurants, Thai restaurants, the Mountain Top Tianchi, Mountain Top Park, Canghai Building, the Dragon Sculpture Square and the Tropical Rainforest Exhibition Hall.
Yalong Bay Underwater World is China's first large-scale marine tourist attraction with underwater tours as its main theme. The water here is clear and blue, and the nearby waters feature a complete coral community.
