Xidao Island | West Island

Winter Tourist Center

The tourist hall mainly features a tranquil and beautiful marine color scheme. Here, you can see exquisitely carved fish group reliefs on the huge central columns. The reliefs seem to rise spirally along the pillars, presenting a magnificent scene. The 300-square-meter canopy screen vividly displays the magnificent underwater world. There are coral clusters in various shapes and colorful tropical fish, presenting a spectacular and gorgeous underwater scenery.

Niuwang Island

"Golden Bull Looking at the Sea"

Niuwang Island, a small island scattered in the southwest of West Island, is named Niubizai Ridge because of its cool shape like a cow's nose. The island has beautiful natural scenery. The island has the most primitive island scenery. When you climb up, you can enjoy the sea and sky, the reef landscape, the sunrise and sunset, the city scenery of Sanya to the north and the South China Sea to the south. There is a sculpture of "Golden Bull Looking at the Sea" on the island.

West Coast Scenic Avenue

Heart-shaped Sea-viewing Pavilions

The West Coast Scenic Avenue is situated on the southwest coast of the West Island. It runs along the coastline, connecting the West Island Scenic Area and Niuwang Island Ecological Park. The sea area around the West Island is part of the Sanya National Coral Reef Nature Reserve. Large coral reefs are scattered along the coast of the coral beach, presenting a charming beachscape that varies between high and low tides. Additionally, you can find small wooden signs, heart-shaped sea-viewing pavilions, bird nests amidst the woods, romantic flower arches, love workshops, and sedan-themed coffee houses, among other romantic small attractions. The entire avenue exudes the sweetness of love, making it an ideal place for couples to take a stroll.

Fishing Village is rated as the most beautiful fishing village in China, with a history of more than 400 years and a famous red culture. Walking in the fishing village, you can feel the simple life of fishermen, and experience different fisherman's customs such as walking in ancient villages, listening to folk songs, eating delicious food and tasting humanities. The unpretentious and carefree fishing village life here will add a little warmth to your sojourn life. The fishing village combines art and culture, bringing a visual feast of culture and art to tourists. The works of art that can be seen everywhere are very artistic.

The Sea-side Study

The Sea-side Study

The Sea-side Study is a public cultural space on Xidao Island that has been transformed from three abandoned fishing boats. It was jointly created with the fishermen of Xidao Island. The Sea-side Study consists of three areas: the study area, the reading club and the sea-boat accommodation area. Imbued with the concept of marine environmental protection culture, it serves as a public cultural service space on Xidao Island. In May 2019, it was awarded the title of "Beautiful Book House in Hainan Province".

West Island enjoys the reputation of "diving paradise", and the surrounding waters belong to the national coral reef nature reserve; there are special diving areas, the water is clear and blue, and there are many kinds of underwater creatures. Educational Value

The coastal landforms of Xidao Island are diverse, including sandy beaches, reef coasts, sea caves, and so on. Through on-site observation and measurement, students can understand the role of marine dynamics in shaping the coastal landforms, as well as the counteraction of the coastal landforms on the marine environment, thus deepening their understanding of the material circulation and energy exchange on the Earth's surface.

Fun Science Popularization Games: Through fun games, the knowledge of coral protection is combined with environmental protection actions. In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, participants' awareness of coral protection is enhanced, and they can learn how to contribute to the protection of the coral reef ecosystem in their daily lives.

Coral Reef Cultivation Learning: Under the guidance of experts, students learn coral reef cultivation techniques and participate in on-site cultivation activities.
