Ciqikou Ancient Town

Chongqing Ciqikou Ancient Town, formerly known as Baiyachang, is a national 4A-level scenic area in China, a famous historical and cultural street in the country, and a traditional street under key protection in Chongqing. The streets and alleys of the ancient town feature buildings in the Ming and Qing styles, and the paths underfoot are paved with bluestone slabs. The attractions include the Zhong Family Courtyard, the Tong Family Courtyard, the Folk Culture Village, teahouses and Baolun Temple. Moreover, visitors can taste local delicacies.

Baolun Temple

Baolun Temple was built in our country during the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty. It is one of the most famous Buddhist temples in Chongqing. The ancient buildings such as Baolun Temple Hall, Guanyin Tower and Baolun Temple Mansion on site show people its once extraordinary.

Also known as Longyin Temple, it is said that Emperor Jianwen of the Ming Dynasty once lived in seclusion here. The four powerful characters "Daxiong Baoyuan" in the existing temple were inscribed by Zhao Puchu, the former chairperson of the Buddhist Association of China. The whole hall of Baolun Temple is forcefully constructed, and it is said that not a single iron nail is used, which can be called a treasure of Chinese architectural art.

The Hanlin Academy

The Hanlin Academy is one of the only remaining ancient private schools in the main urban area of Chongqing. Because the descendants of the Sun family studied in three high schools here, the local people called this place "Hanlin Academy", and now it is a more distinctive folk teahouse in Ciqikou.

Zhongjiayuan

Zhongjiayuan was built in the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. The owner is Mr. Zhong Yunting who grew up in Ciqikou. The whole yard has both the charm of the northern courtyard and the delicacy of the southern dwellings. It is the representative of the Qing Dynasty dwellings in Ciqikou.

People who have been to Ciqikou Ancient Town are full of praise for the delicious food there. Mao Xuewang, Qianzhang, Chen Ma Hua, Ciba, hot pot base, Jiangjin rice flower candy, etc., are really lively, and you can't stop keeping them.

There are many snacks in Ciqikou, such as Twisted Dough Sticks. After a few steps, there will be a twist shop.
