Four-day tour of Wuhan and Wudang Mountain

Four-day tour of Wuhan and Wudang Mountain

WH-03: Wuhan City Exploration and Wudang Mountain Trek

Wudang Mountain is a great place to climb and watch the sunrise. The sea of clouds rolls and the golden light of the sunrise shines on the top, which is magnificent. Before going up the mountain, carry light weight, take a full rest, otherwise you will easily get cramps after continuous climbing. It is more suitable to come when it is sunny. In rainy weather, the mountain is humid and visibility is low, which consumes physical strength and you can't see the mountain scenery.

The Zixiao Palace, the only building in Wudang that perfectly conveys the ancient Chinese architectural style, is known as the Hall of Purple Cloud. This large-scale timber-frame Taoist religious building is one of the few in ancient China with a raised-beam system. Its structure and layout are scientifically reasonable; its artistic style is harmoniously unified and blended with the natural environment. It is unique among all the ancient buildings of Wudang Mountain. When you visit this building, you will see the superb architectural techniques of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Afternoon

After visiting Zixiao Palace, move on to Nanyan Palace. The ancient architecture of Nanyan breaks the traditional completely symmetrical layout and pattern in terms of technique, making it highly harmonious with the environment. The craftsmen cleverly took advantage of the terrain and built it along the mountains and rocks, making some buildings have significant height differences, and some small and exquisite, and there are groups of quadrangles and single corner buildings, which produce a strong artistic effect.

After coming out of the Nanyan Palace, you will visit Taizi Slope. The main scenic spots in this area include the exquisitely designed well pavilion of Mozhen Well, the "Orthoceras," a Paleozoic marine invertebrate, and the mural of "Zhenwu Cultivating Perfection." At Taizi Slope, there is the Tianchi Waterfall that cascades down a hundred feet, the Dilei Pool, the unique structure of "one pillar supporting twelve beams" in Wuyun Building, osmanthus trees, and the Jiuqu Huanghe Wall. There is also the ancient path of the Upper and Lower Shibapan that looks like a fluttering ribbon, various grotesque rocks in the Jiudu Stream, and the precipitous and spectacular Yuxu Rock and other natural landscapes.
