Beijing Accomodation: Homestay
Arrival on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday is recommended. It allows sufficient time to settle down. Upon arrival at Beijing Capital Airport (PEK), you will be greeted by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel or home-stay family. Followed by an orientation program.
The morning class lasts from 9:00am to 11:40am, with two 20-minute breaks. Class activities include listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. The teaching material is carefully chosen based on your Chinese language skill. Lunch is included in school's dining room.
In the afternoon, some colourful outdoor activities and guided sightseeing tours will be arranged. You will learn Tai Chi Kung Fu from a Mater of Taoism, enjoy a traditional Chinese handicraft class with local students, such as paper cutting, Chinese painting and drawing Peking Opera Masks. You will also have a great time during the sightseeing tours to the most famous sites like the Forbidden City, the Beijing Zoo with the Panda House, the Summer Palace and a boat ride, also visit a nearby local village.
The combination of indoor and outdoor activities allows you to be immersed in Chinese language, culture and history. It is the best way to improve your Chinese skills.
Chairman Mao used to say, "You're not a true man until you hike on the Great Wall." We provide an in-depth off-the-beaten track, hiking experience to discover the Great Wall from Simatai West to Jinshanlin. This full day hike transports you back to the days gone by. Standing on thousand year old bricks, you would imagine that you are one of the soldiers guarding the capital of the Middle Kingdom. The un-restored wall, the watch towers and the beacon towers snake along the mountain from east to west. It is the most picturesque part of the Great Wall you will see the scenery changing while you hike. Lunch will be served in a local farmer's house. You will enjoy the fresh local food and being able to talk with your host and know more about their daily life style.
Shanghai Accomodation: Holiday Inn Express Zhabei Shanghai
After one week studying in Beijing, a fast train takes you to the most modern city in mainland China, Shanghai. You will visit the city highlights, the Bund with the Tunnel Ride, Yuyuan Garden, Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Shanghai Urban History and Development Museum. Enjoy some free time at Yuyuan Market and Nanjing Road to practice the Chinese you have just learned.
The following day trip to Zhouzhuang is another exciting trip. It is peaceful and quite with traditional houses along both sides of the little river. The life style never changes generation to generation. It shows life in China as it really is and has been forever.
Depart Shanghai from Pudong International Airport (PVG) for home. Service ends.
